A Journey Back to Wellness
I grew up in a small European town under the constraints of communism, where life was simple yet profoundly rich in ways I didn’t fully appreciate until much later. We lived in harmony with the land, growing most of our own food or buying directly from farmers and shepherds. Every day, like clockwork, we ate at the same exact time, said grace, and listened to classical music in silence as we shared meals that nourished not just our bodies but our spirits. Life followed the natural rhythms of the seasons, and health was simply a byproduct of the way we lived not something we had to chase or fix.
My mother, a veterinarian, was my first window into the world of healing. She would take me along on her house calls, and I was mesmerized by the way she worked ,her presence, her intuition, her ability to bring relief to animals and their owners. Something deep inside me knew: this is what I was meant to do. That curiosity led me down a path of relentless learning first nursing, then medical school, then dental school. Science fascinated me, but it was the human aspect of healing that truly lit me up.
After Graduation
A voice inside me called me to the United States. I listened. I packed my bags and landed in Ohio, working at the Red Cross. That transition was an awakening. I went from homemade meals and daily walks to the fast-paced, high-stress American lifestyle. Processed food, long hours, and relentless hustle left me unrecognizable I gained 20 pounds, felt exhausted, and lost my vitality. Something was deeply wrong, and I knew it wasn’t just me.Then, another voice whispered: Go back to your roots. Dentistry had always been part of my journey, but I saw it differently now. I went back to school, focused, and beat the odds. I was accepted into dental school and stepped fully into the profession. But after a few years of practicing, something felt off. The system was designed like an auto shop : patch things up, replace what’s broken, keep moving. It was a mechanical approach to a deeply biological and energetic process. That’s when I discovered functional medicine a shift that changed everything. It started with my own healing journey, reconnecting with food, lifestyle, and the principles that had once kept me so healthy. But as I integrated this knowledge into my practice, I realized there were still gaps, still unanswered questions
So I kept searching.
That search led me to Ayurveda, an ancient Eastern science that filled in the missing pieces. It wasn’t just about teeth or even the body it was about the whole person. The way we eat, breathe, move, and think determines the state of our health. Dentistry could no longer just be about fixing problems it had to be about restoring balance and reigniting our own bio intelligence.
Today, I have woven all of these experiences together into a comprehensive Whole Health Dental model that bridges modern science with ancient wisdom, one that treats the person, not just the mouth. My journey from communism to capitalism, from depletion to vitality, from Western to Eastern medicine has given me the gift of seeing beyond the surface. And now, I help others do the same because true healing is about more than just fixing what’s broken. It’s about reigniting our bio intelligence and above all remembering who we really are
